This isn't your mother's dining room tableand it may not go into a traditional dining room, but glass top round dining tables are a great way to go. We like them for a lot of reasons. First, though they may scratch, a scratch on glass is not nearly as significant as a scratch on a hand rubbed wood finish. In fact, glass top tables are much easier to maintain. Soap and water, windex or glass plus will all clean the surface just fine. The sun won't hurt it and neither will the cat if it jumps on it. The hot cup of tea can rest directly on the surface and there is no reason to cry over the spilled milk as it will have no lasting impact on the table.

Stylistically, the glass top table can handle a traditional chair in a traditional setting or a slipper chair with more of a contemporary design. The glass can vary in thickness and a

nice polished edge is always a plus. We like tables with a beveled or contoured edge to give it a little extra style.

The table base can be subdued or ornate. There is no right or wrong it is just your choice, thought we prefer the straighter lines and metal as an alternative to the plaster or concrete base.

Glass top tables can also double as foyer tables, are great for playing cards or doing puzzles and a round glass top table is the best way to entertain guests. It is easiest to have a good, even conversation around a round table.
