This circa 1990s Hitchcock Black and maple dining set features Hitchcock's classic stencil work and quality construction. The colonial chairs are nearly perfect and will appeal to all of those who have always wanted a Hitchcock set of their own. High end manufacturers still take the time to hand carve and custom construct beautiful chairs, but they are labor intensive with skilled craftsman. The end result is a nice chair with a hefty price tag that will look great for generations. In the modern era of chair construction, engineered woods are machine turned overseas and packed into a kit that is assembled with hex screws in a warehouse. The result is an inexpensive chair with weak construction.
