This piece takes the spotlight this week because of the beautiful veneer work. [Maitland-Smith's](http://www.maitland-smith.com/) furniture makers are more than craftsmen.  They are true artisans creating pieces that are more like artwork than furniture. This particular piece features hand-stenciled, and hand-drawn art on the surface. The stenciling blends in beautifully with the walnut, satin and ebonized mahogany veneers. In addition to the amazing veneer work, [Maitland-Smith's](http://www.maitland-smith.com/) drawer construction is not the typical dovetail and is instead similare to a tongue and groove.  The tongue and groove construction is structurally very sound. [Maitland-Smith](http://www.maitland-smith.com/) has one of the most complete selections of reproduction end tables in the marketplace, but we really like this one because it is very detailed and is subtle with its design, yet it is very striking. Other maufacturers who do a wonderful job with their end tables are [Kindel Furniture](http://www.kindelfurniture.com/collections/) and [Kittinger Furniture](http://www.kittingerfurniture.com/tables.html). We have placed this beautiful piece of furniture art in the center of our showroom and customers are unable to walk past it without an "ooh" or an "ahhh".  Topics: [Inlay](https://info.furnitureconsignment.com/furniture-spotlight/topic/inlay), [Console Table](https://info.furnitureconsignment.com/furniture-spotlight/topic/console-table), [Maitland-Smith](https://info.furnitureconsignment.com/furniture-spotlight/topic/maitland-smith), [Furniture Consignment](https://info.furnitureconsignment.com/furniture-spotlight/topic/furniture-consignment), [Furniture Style](https://info.furnitureconsignment.com/furniture-spotlight/topic/furniture-style), [Tongue and Groove](https://info.furnitureconsignment.com/furniture-spotlight/topic/tongue-and-groove), [Veneer](https://info.furnitureconsignment.com/furniture-spotlight/topic/veneer)       ![](https://info.furnitureconsignment.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Evergreen%20Images/jay-45.jpg?width=200&name=jay-45.jpg "jay-45.jpg") Jay Frucci, President and Owner, Furniture Consignment Gallery [**Back to Blog Home**](https://info.furnitureconsignment.com/) ### Latest Posts **View [All Posts](https://info.furnitureconsignment.com/all)** Search this site on Google Search Google ### Subscribe by Email ### Follow Me --- **HANOVER** 756 Washington St. (Rt. 53) Hanover, MA 02339 Phone: 781-826-5114 Fax: 781-829-9805   Sunday: 12-5 Monday-Saturday: 10-6 **NATICK**  104 Worcester St. (Rt. 9 East) Natick, MA 01760 Phone: 508-319-5600 Fax: 508-319-5601   Sunday: 11-5 Monday-Saturday: 10-6 **PLYMOUTH** 762 State Rd.
