Featuring Windsor Chairs this week, we have three amazing and unique chairs that would be great to place in the corner of a bedroom in an antique home.

The newest chair is an early American redproduction windsor comb back chair made by DR Dimes. It is made from tiger maple wood and and the curved back is constructed in oak as are the other chairs. DR Dimes is a premier maker of reproduction Early American furniture. They use old world craftsmanship techniques and solid woods.

The second chair is well aged antique wondsor chair from the early 1900s. uimg 7370This chair was hand crafted and is made with a pine seat and has the hand carved bow back. And the oldest chair that we have is from the mid 1800s and was previously part of a large Nantcuket estate. This chair appears to be carved out by hand and has a beautiful petina.

There are many types of Windsor chairs with various configurations. They were a labor of love for a craftsman to build and the good ones are able to with stand the test of time. We are lucky to have a few of them around our showroom.

You can only find such a diverse set of old chairs and new chairs at Furniture Consignment Gallery.

Eldred Wheeler Tiger Maple Corner Cabinet -- Piece of the Week

Posted by Jay Frucci on Sat, June 18, 2011 @ 06: 24 AM

The minds of our consignors connect in mysterious ways. We have not had a Tiger Maple corner cabinet from Eldred Wheeler in our inventory for years and suddenly in the same week, we accepted three of them into our inventory.  We have one which has a door that opens to the right in our Hanover, MA Furniture Consignment Showroom and two of these located in our Newton, MA Furniture Consignment Gallery. The cabinets in Newton are opposite opening so that they can positioned on alternate sides within a dining room. They are item numbers 2321-1, 2321-2 and 2320-3 in our inventory.

Eldred Wheeler produces 18th Century Early American reproduction colonial furniture.  They use a lot of Cherry and Maple woods in their furniture lines as the Cherry and Maple trees are prevalent in the Eastern United States. Their flagship products are manufactured with a tiger maple wood which features a distinct tiger striping. Many musical instruments such as Cellos and Violins also use tiger maple woods.

Eldred Wheeler products have a very distinct finish that makes their products extremely popular in Massachusetts. Don't miss this opportunity to own one or three of these great corner cabinets. We have them prices at $2,599 each and that is an excellent value considering they are $4,800 if purchased direct from Eldred Wheeler. The best part is their is no lead time. You can buy them and bring them home with you today. Call one of our Furniture Consignment Showrooms in Newton or Hanover, MA today and secure your purchase.
