Featuring Windsor Chairs this week, we have three amazing and unique chairs that would be great to place in the corner of a bedroom in an antique home.

The newest chair is an early American redproduction windsor comb back chair made by DR Dimes. It is made from tiger maple wood and and the curved back is constructed in oak as are the other chairs. DR Dimes is a premier maker of reproduction Early American furniture. They use old world craftsmanship techniques and solid woods.

The second chair is well aged antique wondsor chair from the early 1900s. uimg 7370This chair was hand crafted and is made with a pine seat and has the hand carved bow back. And the oldest chair that we have is from the mid 1800s and was previously part of a large Nantcuket estate. This chair appears to be carved out by hand and has a beautiful petina.

There are many types of Windsor chairs with various configurations. They were a labor of love for a craftsman to build and the good ones are able to with stand the test of time. We are lucky to have a few of them around our showroom.

You can only find such a diverse set of old chairs and new chairs at Furniture Consignment Gallery.

DR Dimes Tiger Maple Coffee Table

Posted by Jay Frucci on Fri, February 03, 2012 @ 09: 45 PM

uimg 7472This is two weeks in a row our Piece of the Week has sold after our video production. Nevertheless, you won't want to miss out on the next piece of furniture that you see at Furniture Consignment Gallery from DR Dimes. This was our mistake to produce the video on this spectacular DR Dimes Tiger Maple colonial coffee table. We should have known how desiresable this would be and that it would have little chance to stick around for a few extra days so that we could publish the video.uimg 7473

We should have learned our lesson from the last DR Dimes Tiger Maple dining set that we had in that sold in twenty minutes that left a customer who was too slow, sobbing while she walked out the door. It happens, and we should have selected an item for our piece of the week that would not sell quite as fast. Sorry if you missed out on this one, but you can still watch the video and be ready to act when the next piece of DR Dimes Tiger Maple furniture comes walking into our showroom. There is almost nothing better than DR Dimes furniture on consignment. You can find Tiger maple furniture on consignment in our Hanover, MA furniture consignment showroom or in a high-end upscale furniture consignment store in Newton, MA.

Pre Owned Harden Furniture Queen Anne Dining Set

Posted by Jay Frucci on Fri, November 11, 2011 @ 06: 38 AM

g1ey0jvjKudos to Harden Furniture for hanging in there through the hardest of times. The last decade has been brutal on the furniture industry, one that the industry, over the course of time, would like to forget. The economy has put many furniture companies out of business and has many others holding on by a thread.

Harden has also experienced difficulties and has experienced some pain, but they have persevered. Never wavering from their principals of good construction, good design while staying true to its American routes; they are suddenly finding themselves well positioned for the future.

You may recall ABC's special series "Made in America" where Harden Furniture was featured. We followed up with our own blog on the topic "Thoughts on ABC's Made in America" that also gained national interest. So we thought that it is only right that as we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday, one of America's finest traditions, that we feature one of our favorite sets in our showroom right now, made by one of our favorite American manufacturers.

This Harden solid Queen Anne cherry dining room table has 2 leaves and 6 chairs. It is is in pristine condition from the upholstered cushions to the table top. This set will endure many family dinners and is structurally sound enough that it could be passed to other generations.  That is not an easy claim to make in today's world of disposable furniture.

We are selling this set for $1,999.99.  This is several thousand dollars below the retail price, but it still has excellent resale value. You can find quality furniture like this made by American manufacturers such as Eldred Wheeler and DR Dimes at Furniture Consignment Gallery in Hanover, MA and our newest Newton MA, Furniture Consignment store that services Boston, Brookline, Wellesley and Weston.
