It is hard to buy any kind of furniture for $400 these days. Even the discount furniture stores are more expensive than you would think. We felt this Cherry Pulaski curio cabinet is an excellent deal at $400. It is item number 2219-1in our inventory. It has glass shelves, a mirrored back, a broken pediment with a finial and opens and closes the way it should. It is a sturdy pieceof furniture that can have many uses. Storage in our homes is always at a premium and it is nice to have a piece of furniture to display things that are more important to you. Whether there are photos or memorabilia that you would like to glance at from time to time or pieces that stimulate conversation; a curio cabinet is nice to have. And at $400 you can make a nice addition to your home. It is a worthy piece to store your memories." title="http://" target="_blank">
Not only is this Crotch Mahogany Display Cabinet by Royal Furnitureour deal of the the week, but it is also one of our favorite pieces on our showroom floor. The distinct book matched veneer of the crotch mahogany has been sliced from the same piece of wood making the crotch wood grain match across the doors. The book matched veneer is outlined by a Rosewood banded inlay which borders the cabinet doors as well as the drawer below. This piece is a great deal at $810! In New York City this piece would sell for thousands of dollars. Different from our giant Piece of the Week, this cabinet is more suitable for a studio apartment or a city condo where storage is necessary, but only smaller pieces can be accommodated. This piece has adjustable shelving to hold books, china or anything else that you will need to store. This cabinet is number 48-2118 in our inventory.

This week we shine our Furniture Spotlight on two Century Amaretto, Country House China Cabinets with arched tops. They are positioned separately in the stairway landings in our showroom because that is the only area where we can accommodate the height of these pieces. These Century Cabinets are 94" tall. They would look amazing if you have high ceilings with crown moldings and a enough room in your dining area for both of them! They have squiggled glass doors, a smoked mirrored back and are distressed throughout to appear as if they are well aged antiques. Century Furniture's progressive design work succeeded in taking a modern style and combining it with intentional distress marks to produce a piece with character. The consignor paid $7,500 each for these pieces and we are selling them for $2,900 each. At Furniture Consignment Gallery, you can purchase these two cabinets for less than the price of one; if you bought them new. These cabinets are numbers 214-4 and 214-3 in our inventory.
Our "Piece of the Week" is a Councill Craftsman 4 drawer mahogany chest with a satin banded inlay. It is item number 2211-5 in our inventory. The inlay borders the drawers and is very pronounced on the top surface where the inlay is about 2 inches wide. When we were in the residence where this piece came from, we saw it across the room and said, "that piece must be Councill!" We knew that because the high sheen finish is unique to Councill. They have the best finish and produce the best inlaid veneer work of all of the elite manufacturers. We have priced this piece at $1,899 which sounds like a lot of money, but it is much less than purchasing it new and it would bring elegance and good decor to whichever room you choose to put it in.
This Mahogany Double Pedestal Circa 1940s dining room table has been refinished and is currently priced at $400. This is item number 48-2076 in our inventory. This table is solid mahogany, is 54" long and only 36" wide. This is narrow table which is nice for a small dining room. This table has (1) 12" leaf so it expands to 66". This table is solid mahogany and at $400 it is a really great deal. That is why we selected this beautiful Mahogany table as our "Deal of the Week".
This week we shine our Furniture Spotlight on the Columbus Avenue Stickley Sideboard. It is item #2190-7 in our inventory. This sideboard is a reproduction of a piece that was built for Gustav Stickley's home. The original is in the Stickley museum and is valued at over $560,000. From our understanding, Stickley produced 100 of these sideboards and they are no longer in production. The closest thing we could find in the current line is the Syracuse Sideboard. So even though this item is only 12 years old, it is sure to be collector's item and a piece of value in the not too distant future. The great characteristics of this item are the Mission hardware and the solid white oak wood which is indigenous to the North East United States where Stickley Furniture is produced.
We are also fortunate to have an additional 30 pieces of Stickley furniture all from the same waterfront home and it is a true collection of Stickley's flagship Mission Oak product. We have a Grandfather clock, sideboard, Trestle Table, Spindle Chairs, Executive Desk, Library Table, settee, Bookcases, Cabinets, Armoires and much more. All of these products have the Stickley markings, are hand crafted in Manlius New York. They are superb values at Furniture Consignment Gallery. This is an amazing, must see collection. Come start your own Stickley Collection today. All pieces are in excellent condition and are discounted well below the Stickley store prices.
This Tight back sofa by Baker Furniture is a great deal at $899. Baker Furniture's Simply Baker upholstery pieces starts it's pricing at $2,795 and the Baker Classics line pricing starts at $4,000. Those are "starting at" prices so $899 is a real bargain especially since this sofa is in excellent condition, is a desirable style and an attractive fabric. This sofa is item number 2062-5 in our inventory. If you prefer to reupholster this sofa, you would need approximately 20 yards of fabric and it may cost about $1,000 in labor. So even if you wanted to reupholster this sofa, it is still a good deal. That is why this Baker Furniture sofa is our Deal of the Week.
On the heels of the ABC World News' "Made in America" special that aired this week, we are featuring this Vaughn Basset Bedroom set that is in our furniture consignment inventory and is item number 2184-7. In the feature, a family in Dallas, TX volunteered to fore go all foreign made product in their home and received replacement items that are made in America. One of the companies that was selected to provide replacement furniture was Vaughn Basset Furniture which is 99% made in America. Vaughn Bassett is in the midrange in the marketplace and is made from mostly solid wood. This particular set is constructed of many solid pieces of cherry wood which is very good compared to the imports, that sell at the same price point, where most of the composition is an engineered wood. This is a very handsome set consisting of Queen Bed with solid cherry and a scrolled iron top, a wardrobe chest with a door, shelving and a nightstand. This set is an excellent value selling on consignment at Furniture Consignment Gallery in Hanover, MA at $899. The great thing about American Made furniture is that it has very strong resale value on the second hand furniture market. We are pleased ABC ran this feature and are happy to present this Vaughn Basset set as our Deal of the Week.
We are fortuanet to have a Maitland-Smith Sheraton Style Mahogany Pembroke End Table in our showroom. It is item number 2164-2 in our inventory and is priced at $1,999. This piece takes the spotlight this week because of the beautiful veneer work. Maitland-Smith's furniture makers are more than craftsmen. They are true artisans creating pieces that are more like artwork than furniture. This particular piece features hand-stenciled, and hand-drawn art on the surface. The stenciling blends in beautifully with the walnut, satin and ebonized mahogany veneers. In addition to the amazing veneer work, Maitland-Smith's drawer construction is not the typical dovetail and is instead similare to a tongue and groove. The tongue and groove construction is structurally very sound. Maitland-Smith has one of the most complete selections of reproduction end tables in the marketplace, but we really like this one because it is very detailed and is subtle with its design, yet it is very striking. Other maufacturers who do a wonderful job with their end tables are Kindel Furniture and Kittinger Furniture. We have placed this beautiful piece of furniture art in the center of our showroom and customers are unable to walk past it without an "ooh" or an "ahhh".
This week we shine our Furniture Spotlight on Circa 1940s Mahogany Bedroom Set. This set comes with a dresser, two nightstands, a full size head board, foot board and rails. It is an excellent value at $1,300. Compare this set with what new furniture stores are offering and see what you can find for $1,300 in a bedroom set. We think that you will agree that this is a tremendous deal. The quality and craftsmanship of the 1940s is not replicated in today's marketplace especially for the price. This is a set that can be refinished time and time again. Place this set in a spare bedroom, or buy it for a teenager who has outgrown their childhood furniture. As your teenager moves through life, this set could go with them to their first apartment, first home and then be passed onto their children. This set should out live all of us. It is great quality, has a great look and we don't think you can beat this deal. This set is item number 2135-3 in our inventory.
