We'd like to tell you that this Baker Furniture Historic Charleston china cabinet is a one of a kind piece, but that would not be true. This China cabinet was one of Baker's best sellers for many years and so we see them fairly often in our store. We see them so often that you might think you are seeing double, but rest assured your eyes are not playing tricks. At this moment, we actually have two of them! These are very beautiful china cabinets with contrasting wood colors and wonderful veneers that are crafted by the Baker furniture artisans. Solid Cherry tall chests are hard to find these days! In furniture stores today, you will find cherry plated dressers meaning that the drawer fronts will have a solid cherry plate on them, but the rest of the drawer, even if it is dovetailed, is made from cheaper parts. These drawers often glide on plastic runners. 

Yes, times have changed in the world of furniture production, but you can still find the styles that you want with the quality beneath the surface. You may just have to come to a store like ours to find it.

Featuring Windsor Chairs this week, we have three amazing and unique chairs that would be great to place in the corner of a bedroom in an antique home.

The newest chair is an early American redproduction windsor comb back chair made by DR Dimes. It is made from tiger maple wood and and the curved back is constructed in oak as are the other chairs. DR Dimes is a premier maker of reproduction Early American furniture. They use old world craftsmanship techniques and solid woods.

The second chair is well aged antique wondsor chair from the early 1900s. This chair was hand crafted and is made with a pine seat and has the hand carved bow back. And the oldest chair that we have is from the mid 1800s and was previously part of a large Nantcuket estate. This chair appears to be carved out by hand and has a beautiful petina.

There are many types of Windsor chairs with various configurations. They were a labor of love for a craftsman to build and the good ones are able to with stand the test of time. We are lucky to have a few of them around our showroom.

This Pottery Barn Workstation would be perfect for many purposes. It could be used as a work table, a giftwrappind station or an Island. It has bookcase cubby ends where baskets with craft supplies suuch as yarn could be stored. This is great working surface area and if you do not have the space to have this set up all of the time, it does break down as the top removes so that the ends could be used as stand alone bookcases.

 With its original operations in Nashua New Hampshire and in Medford, MA, Isaac Kaplan, Boston's furniture maestro of the 1930s, acquired Old Colony Furniture Co. and merged it with his own creating the famous Beacon Hill Collection. These serpentine chests boast fine craftsmanship and have the original Old Colony name plates. Though these are not antiques they are to be appreciated and admired for their originality, detail and fine craftsmanship. So detailed are these chests, that one of them has a pop-up mirror in the second drawer.

The stunning veneered mahogany wood outlined by the satin and ebony inlay that runs around the entire top edge of the chest is just perfect.

These beautiful chests were being offered for $1,199 and $1,299 for the chest with the embedded mirror. The chests sold on the day of our video production, but they were so spectacular that we felt it was worth featuring them anyway.

We have one remaining piece manufactured by Old Colony Furniture Co. and it is a beautiful hutch for $1,999.

One of the nicest dining sets in our inventory at the moment, this Baker Furniture Milling Road Neoclassical dining set has a round table with a leaf and (4) chairs. This set is in perfect condition and is very versatile.

Though it could be used as a dining room set in a city loft, this could also be a kitchen set on the Cape or an occasional set in a new construction home. With many uses, this set is sure to find a home soon. It is one of our favorite sets in our in the showroom.

There is more from Guy Chaddock! Last week the large round table was our Piece of the Week and this week's deal features another special dining set from Guy Chaddock.

This round table has one large 24" leaf and (6) French Ladder back chairs. This has both intentional and unintentional distress marks, but is well worth the bargain price of $1,530. Especially when a single Guy Chaddock chair sells for more than $1,000 when purchased new. This set is a great price, but it also has nice styling which is the trademark of the Guy Chaddock design.
