It's our Piece of the Week, but could just as easily be our Deal of the Week. This Councill Craftsman Allen Breakfront is an awesome deal for $1,299. As one savvy shopper pointed out today, it is more that 1/4 the price of all other available Councill hutches that you could find on-line at e-bay, craigs list and other internet outlets.
Yes, this is a very nice price. It would be and should be more if there was not sun damage on the doors, but that damage can be repaired with the
right furniture restoration expert. Even after restoration costs, this hutch would remain an excellent price.

Chair manufacturing has dramatically changed in the last ten years. Not too long ago, crafting a quality chair was a heavily involved and time consuming process. High end manufacturers still take the time to hand carve and custom construct beautiful chairs, but they are labor intensive with skilled craftsman. The end result is a nice chair with a hefty price tag that will look great for generations. In the modern era of chair construction, engineered woods are machine turned overseas and packed into a kit that is assembled with hex screws in a warehouse. The result is an inexpensive chair with weak construction. When, the screws loosen and an enthusiastic guest rocks slightly back and forth, your guest may find himself planted on the ground with his chair in pieces.
This set of (8) arm chairs by Kimball International are excellent construction built from solid cherry woods. They are hand carved by skilled craftsman and are extremely sturdy. Furniture makers of yesteryear would praise these chairs. They are an excellent price at $899 for the set which converts to $112 per chair. That is a far cry from the hundreds of dollars you would have to pay for a similar styled and constructed chair in today's marketplace.

Charak Furniture was one of the premier makers of high end reproduction furniture in the United States during the 1930s. Manufactured in Boston, Charak pieces were wonderfully crafted with solid mahogany and fabulous veneers. The works of true artisans, Charak Furniture is very desiresable among collectors and furniture connoisseurs.
A quick search on ebay will reveal some stout pricing and the demand is evident for such pieces.
This particular Charak table is an amazing piece as it boasts four leaves and the ends drop down to form a small drop leaf table which is able to fit into even the smallest abodes. But this beauty quickly transitions into a full sized dining table offering great looks, stability and comfort. The carved pedestal base which supports the table top in a symmetric fashion allows for up to eight chairs to surround a good meal without the frustration of wiggling around table legs or pedestals.

Moosehead furniture is one of our favorite makers who makes no more. You may recall our blog referencing the company titled 3 Past Winners Shine on Resale Market.
We happen to have three identical Moosehead sold maple, mission style twin beds. These beds are all rock solid and will withstand and endure some serious punishment from the most raucous of kids. These beds should be strongly considered to outfit your new vacation home or to replace some tired old beds.
When Moosehead was rolling along these beds retailed at around $800 each and you can find them for what is likely to be a limited time at Furniture Consignment Gallery for $239 each. What a deal that is! And that is why they are our Deal of the week.
