It may not seem to be the time of year to begin thinking about your pool patio deck, but time is flying! As the month of February has the feel of Spring in the air, maybe we'll be treated to an early and extended summer.

Outdoor furniture sets are a substantial investment if you choose to go with good quality and design. That is why, even thought we are still in the dead of winter, we made this great cast aluminum outdoor set our Piece of the Week.

Our logic is that it is hard to come by quality pre-owned outdoor furniture sets.

Most of the sets that are offered to us have been well weathered and are not very appealing. Others are rusted, have mildew or have faded quite a bit. But this set is none of those things. It has been well cared for and has many pieces including a glider, swivvel rocker, coffee table, end table, three seat sofa, table with

four chairs two umbrellas and a chaise lounge.

You won't see this very often.  You certainly wouldn't guess that this chest of drawers was made by Drexel Heritage. This piece is one of a kind as the original construction is a 1940s Drexle Mahaongy chest. It was a very common piece and one of Drexel's best sellers in its' day. But it didn't look like this. This chest of drawers was re-built by a furniture hobbiest. The bones

of the piece are of the original circa 1940s piece, but the veneer work is all new. The veneers were constructed by a first generation Italian craftsman who built by hand an inlaid satin starburst on the surface top. He crafted keyhole accents from genuine ivory and designed a hand cut a satin banded inlay that outlines each of the drawers.  The reconstruction process took months of detailed work and the result is a masterpiece. A 

masterpiece of craftsmanship and creativity that belongs in a good home to someone who values this refinished, repurposed and reconstructed Drexel Heritage 1940s chest of drawers.

This piece of furniture came from a beautiful home in Concord, MA. Furniture by Kreiss Collection is normally found in the residences of very wealthy home owners. But when you can find a piece like this on the furniture resale market, it becomes affordable.  This Apothecary Chest has 14 drawers, and is leather wrapped with a beautiful gold inlay. It is item 1918-29. The drawers are all finished inside and out, on the bottom and even in the interior. This exclusive furniture is very upscale pre-owned furniture.

The Lionhead hardware alone would cost a great deal of money. This can be put in your bedroom, hallway, or dining room. A lamp or two will accent this beautifully. It is a standalone piece that will bring great decor to your home. This piece, if purchased new, would be priced at around Six thousand dollars.
