Early American reproduction furniture is a house favorite at Furniture consignment Gallery. This Tiger Maple Dunlap High Boy by Eldred Wheeler is the nicest piece of furniture in our showroom right now so we had to make it our Piece of the Week before it travels to its next destination.
Inspired from an original work that was crafted by Major John Dunlap in the late 1700s, this piece has some amazing features. First there is a beautiful scrolled carving at the bottom of the highboy of pinwheels and the fan which is a tell tale sign of a Dunlap piece. The hardware has a nice aged patina and the dove tail cross bar which runs under each drawer is a sign of the wonderful craftsmanship of Eldred Wheeler.
Dunlap was a Northern New England craftsman who used the indigenous maple trees in New Hampshire to craft his furniture. He must have been quite lucky as many of his original creations are made from tiger maple and maple trees that produce the tiger stripes are not identifiable unless they are first cut down.
This chest is 80" tall and that is a bit comical given that the average height of an average American in the late 1700s was 5'8". Not even today's taller generations could see into the top drawers without a step stool.
This is a wonderful reproduction piece of furniture. The finish is full of life and the construction is bar none. You can enjoy it in your home for $5,799 and you can find many other wonderful pieces of furniture at our consignment furniture showrooms in Hanover, MA and in Chestnut Hill, MA.
We have two of these beautiful love seats custom designed and ordered from an interior designer for our consignor. After a downsize that negated a living room, the couple is forced to sell their favorite pieces from their former home. The Kravet product is exclusive to the interior design community. It is very high quality with eight way hand tied frames and the fabric selections are fantastic.
These loveseats are in pristine condition, are a neutral tone and the tufting make them very high end. These love seats are priced separately for $1,499 and they are our "pieces of the week".

This Mahogany Executive desk is really more of a work table. Some folks like to have desk storage on either side in the form of what is referred to as pedestals on a desk. However, in today's world of labtops and tablets, there is less of a need for deep drawers.
It is also really nice to be able to roll your chair from one side of the desk to the other without interference. So I'm really trying to sell this desk here, but here is the thing: this desk is beautiful and it is only $549.99. This desk has a nice mahogany top, has been recently refinished and the three drawers are all functional.
The desk also has nice brass hardware and pretty wood carvings to trim out the edges and the legs.

How about this gorgeous mahogany Server! It really is a server, but could be used in so many other ways because it is very beautiful and offers a lot of functional storage.
Most important is the stunning contrast with the walnut inlaid deep drawers on the top and the crotch mahogany veneered doors. We love the wood knobs as it adds a lot of masculinity to the piece.
This server could be used in any area of the home as it has storage that could be used for dishware, but is equally as useful to store crafts, clothing or anything else that needs to be put away!
This server is circa 1910 and is available in our Hanover furniture consignment store along with many other amazing pieces of furniture. You can also find more great furniture in our in our Boston Furniture Consignment store located in Newton, MA.
This Mahogany Chippendale settee is our deal of the week because it is only $999! This settee is hand carved and is large in scale with three seat backs.
This piece is really calling the interior design community as it could be easily re-upholstered to match a client's decor and it is a unique piece. It would be very nice situated in the hallway of a large home and would blend beautifully with tradition , transitional and even modern decor. There is always room for a beautiful piece of furniture. We believe this settee to be circa 1900.

It may not seem to be the time of year to begin thinking about your pool patio deck, but time is flying! As the month of February has the feel of Spring in the air, maybe we'll be treated to an early and extended summer.
Outdoor furniture sets are a substantial investment if you choose to go with good quality and design. That is why, even thought we are still in the dead of winter, we made this great cast aluminum outdoor set our Piece of the Week.
Our logic is that it is hard to come by quality pre-owned outdoor furniture sets.
Most of the sets that are offered to us have been well weathered and are not very appealing. Others are rusted, have mildew or have faded quite a bit. But this set is none of those things. It has been well cared for and has many pieces including a glider, swivvel rocker, coffee table, end table, three seat sofa, table with
If your patio set is in need of replacement, we would recommend checking this set out. It is a great value and you may need it sooner than we all think should the weather continue to stay ahead of its normal schedule.

You won't see this very often. You certainly wouldn't guess that this chest of drawers was made by Drexel Heritage. This piece is one of a kind as the original construction is a 1940s Drexle Mahaongy chest. It was a very common piece and one of Drexel's best sellers in its' day. But it didn't look like this. This chest of drawers was re-built by a furniture hobbiest. The bones
of the piece are of the original circa 1940s piece, but the veneer work is all new. The veneers were constructed by a first generation Italian craftsman who built by hand an inlaid satin starburst on the surface top. He crafted keyhole accents from genuine ivory and designed a hand cut a satin banded inlay that outlines each of the drawers. The reconstruction process took months of detailed work and the result is a masterpiece. A
masterpiece of craftsmanship and creativity that belongs in a good home to someone who values this refinished, repurposed and reconstructed Drexel Heritage 1940s chest of drawers.
